FAKE POSTERS. GRR and the faking fakers who fake them
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 7508664822
seller has the 1966 dylan zeppelin poster up and is claiming NOT to know if it's real.
I emailed to say IT's NOT!
let's see how many times the seller lies and relists the item saying she does not know?!
"Dear realvintagegals,
Led Zeppelin did not play together in 1966. This poster is not for an event that ever took place. Now don't say you don't know! http://www.led-zeppelin.com/LZitin1.html has the official LZ tour history and it starts in 1968."
PS how do I search the forums? i know this has been discussed a lot. . . but I can't seem to find the SEARCH button!?!

In all fairness to the seller, the description does clearly state that it is a "replica".macc5 wrote:Beware: ..this seller is selling all bootlegs framed...

All fairness to the seller? Come on now! This guy is clearly selling bootleg posters. It makes no difference he says they are replica's. He's bootlegging them and getting away with it.hainshead wrote:In all fairness to the seller, the description does clearly state that it is a "replica".macc5 wrote:Beware: ..this seller is selling all bootlegs framed...

I am not condoning bootlegging. My point was that at least he's not trying to pull the wool over someone's eyes in getting them to believe it's authentic like many a bootlegger has.All fairness to the seller? Come on now! Whether or not he's "honest" in his descriptions is irrellevant and should not make a difference. The Bottom line is the guy is selling bootleg prints, with a frame, and selling them for $40 a pop.hainshead wrote:I am not condoning bootlegging. I bought an old avalon ballroom poster from hbarkley66. She did mention that it was a reprint; I assumed since it was only printed twice that it was a second printing. Well, she or somebody basically reprinted it on their xerox machine....fudge, it even has old tape marks and crinkles which were xerox'd onto the copy.....nice huh!

Didn't Phil Cushway print the legitimate 2nd printing of this?

Is there any reason why someone doesn't just ask the seller the question of "Is this an illegal copy ( bootleg) or a second printing?"
We know the answer but still it would be posted to Ebay and maybe clue people in that what this person is doing is not cool. I know that matters very little to a lot of people. Aren't there Ebay rules to selling counterfeit material?

If you look at the auctions this person is selling, they are bootleg prints. He states that they are " replica" prints. Some of these have legit second prints, such as Cornell, but the one he is selling is a bootleg.hainshead wrote:Is there any reason why someone doesn't just ask the seller the question of "Is this an illegal copy ( bootleg) or a second printing?"

I just hate to see this guy making $$ off bootleg prints.
Exactly. So why don't we just point this out to the general public by asking the seller a question about the print? That would put it in the item Q&A which all could read, correct? Then of course there is just reporting him to Ebay but I really don't want to get into the habbit of playing the role of Ebay cop.franklinstowr wrote:If you look at the auctions this person is selling, they are bootleg prints. You have the option to display the question/answer or not.hainshead wrote:Exactly. So why don't we just point this out to the general public by asking the seller a question about the print?
