Is it throwing gasoline on a fire to point out most of the neo expressionist went to school in the 60's and early 70's when conceptual and minimalism was the rage ? The ones often featured in Art forum and Art in America . Most did not major in painting . Most didn't have a rigid figure drawing instructor ......A couple did fight in WW2 though
