J/k - I like the Reg a lot, his likenesses and illustrations are pretty unbeatable. The variant seems like a bit of a cop-out to me, but it's more inventive than just a different colorway I guess.
I still think the Martin Ansen is my favorite Alien/s poster.

I agree. He's a talented artist assuming he's not tracing likenesses. I also continue to be impressed by his use of color. But his compositions all feel very static. Even in the pieces that imply movement, the subjects look like wax figures.RambosRemodeler wrote:Definitely not questioning his drawing skills. I just think all of his posters are really lacking in the composition/layout department. They are all so drymounting boring. I mean he just checks all the boxes. Ripley? Check. Lots of Aliens? Check. I still think his Casablanca is the tits.
The title treatment on the Casablanca ruins the print for me.

Nailed it. Static is how I have described his stuff in the past. I think there's some pieces he has done that definitely should have been dynamic but they just weren't. I just don't get the love. Plenty of talented artists out there that can do both of those things properly and don't have the ego/attitude rory does.BackToTheFutureFan wrote:I agree. Does he have ego/attitude? Just curious. Haven't interacted with him at all, and haven't heard anecdotally.RambosRemodeler wrote:Nailed it. Static is how I have described his stuff in the past. Rory seems like a pretty good dude, but some of his actions seem rather douchey sometimes. Hints of MM lol
