You say gouge, I say charging what she probably should be. Vanessa doesn't do many print runs and there are only so many originals one can do. Needs to make a living to keep making art. Also assume gallery takes half of that.
Vanessa Foley's Aviary
So it goes...
I don’t have any issue with her making more money. But there’s no reason to charge $20 for a tube that size. Which is why it smells more like gouging than Vanessa saying hey let’s raise the prices. I could be completely off base on that, it’s just how I feel. Still love her and can’t wait to try and get the Vacvvm print.Baker wrote:DickButt wrote:That’s what kept me away. It was up at $675, but you'd have to ask Choke if it sold at that price.bullelk wrote:Any idea what the price was on the foley bee from the onsale thread? Saw too late

vanessafoley wrote:This Spectacled Owl was part of my recent show with @antlerpdx, definitely one of the more unusual owls I've portrayed but he turned out to be an absolute pleasure to work on with his monochromatic feathers and stern gaze. There are certain times when a bird perfectly suits the medium, and working on this fellow in graphite was a match made in bird art heaven

That may be my favorite owl yet.
