No print release on opening, but there will be one around July 15th at the gallery only, no online release.infrared90s wrote:will there be prints? havent read anything about thatmademehmmm wrote: Anyone Going that could help?

Cleon should do a run of 6-12” figs based on his sculptures.

There is an artist Ive never seen get any love named Mark Whalen, only found him by looking for Tom Whalen art. He has a similar style as Cleon, strangely drawn figures doing weird fudge. Cleon is Romanesque while Mark is more trippy pixel land. I havent been to his website in a while but it seems like he shifted towards sculptures. http://www.markwhalenart.com/
Mark went under the name Kill Pixie for a long time. People know who he is. He’s sold prints on POW and has done album art for Autolux. He gets no love here because he doesn’t make gig posters or quick flips. The second Cleon’s prints stop selling on eBay then people here will stop talking about him this much.mademehmmm wrote:There is an artist Ive never seen get any love named Mark Whalen, only found him by looking for Tom Whalen art. Don't read that as snarky in the slightest, open dialogue & debate is healthy, authentic & genuine... And should be celebrated, not criticised or censored & for what it's worth, whole heartedly agree!
Art prints are just that, prints of art & nothing more than a souvenir. From what I've seen, Whalen likes to experiment, challenge himself & his audience... Peterson, nice as it is, not so much!

Then pretty much everything we talk about on this site ain't #fineart including the #fineart being discussed in dis thread.

Henry, we’re on the same page. Is that one for sale somewhere? I want this on my desk:
