Sandra Chevrier
Shockingly, it seems to be legit. I question the sanity of a lot of bidders in this auction though. There are many pieces that went for WAY over current secondary prices and many that are currently available on ebay and elsewhere for a fraction of the closing price. I am a big Chevrier fan, but ~$9k+ for this print is just ridiculous.

She got all pissed about a piece Raid 71 did (stan lee) and subsequently refused to work with Bottleneck Gallery.cotis wrote:what's the general gist here of all this fudge with her? 20 second recap please.
People called her the C word and other stuff.
IWish came in to fight the EB misogyny.
I'm sure that auction sale was legit. People are idiots and live auction purchases are a status symbol for many people. Her market has softened considerably though.

Either that or this auction house is amazing at generating interest because a lot of those prices are insane. There was a Ben Frost print from 1xrun that went for over $2800 for the smaller version while the large version with a smaller run size I could buy on eBay today for likely well under $500. An Eine Adventure print went for over $2500, a MBW Jimi print went for $1100+ when they typically sell for under $500, Dot Dot Dot Handgun for $3k+. So many crazy numbers.phishstix101 wrote:From what I've been able to find out this price realized was for a charity. May explain the result!phishstix101 wrote:Anyone know if this is legit?

Things sold in that auction over original cost for items where one can still purchase for OG cost. Absurd.

They shipped mine to an incorrect address after I had corrected it through their customer service. The package never got redirected and got shipped back to sender. They ignored all my emails for a couple months and it wasn't until I put in a paypal dispute that they finally said the box and product had been smashed and damaged (by me) and they weren't giving me a refund. Paypal sided with me though so it worked out okay in the end.

I totally drymounted up by not looking at IG for a few days and missed those. I checked IG the evening those went on sale and saw them, I would have bought one for sure. if anyone has regrets (I know, it's unlikely), let me know.
