After a few months of site revisions and beta testing, we are happy to announce the unveiling of The People's Printshop v2.0!

When we started the People's Printshop back in December, it was initially just a fun side project for us: an opportunity to provide cool prints by our favorite artists for as affordable of a price as possible.

Immediately, we knew we struck on something even bigger than anticipated. In just our first couple months open we made thousands of fans and collectors happy, shipping over 3,000 limited edition prints across the globe.

In March of this year, we took a survey with a core group of our most adamant collectors, asking them what changes they'd like to see as we grow and evolve as a business.

Here were the changes they wanted to see:
Runs that were more limited edition
Prints that were signed by the artist, not just numbered
Larger prints in a range of sizes
More archival framing, meant to protect art for years to come
Well, we listened to you, our fans, took the site down and have been furiously working to create a new version of the site with the changes listed above.

Today, we welcome you to check out Version 2.0 of the People's Printshop. Poke around the site and please let us know what you think!

Custom framing now available!

The People's Printshop is happy to announce that custom framing is now available! Though more expensive than our previous framing option, custom framing protects your investment for years to come.

Here are some of the great benefits:
Custom hand built frame
UV-resistent Plexiglass (won't break, or let your print fade)
Archival acid-free backing (prevents your print from yellowing with age)
Custom attached hanging hardware (making it even easier to hang your print)

I thought one of the main aims of the People's Printshop was to get art in the hands of collectors for $20 a pop. I guess that changes when you make the runs a lot more limited and mandate an artist's signature? :? So now how is this any different from the other gallery you work for Ken and/or every other gallery out there that sells prints? Is $40+ shipping for a giclee the new norm for the PP?

edit: Just looked at some old emails from you guys...prints used to be $20, $30 framed, but they were smaller. Hope you will still have that option moving forward.

Thanks for the feedback!

The larger sizes, and the fact that the prints are signed (we had to ship these to Australia for Rod to sign, then ship them back) does warrant a higher price tag due to the increased costs. I loved the $20 print option, but a lot of our collectors would rather pay an extra $10-$20 a print to know it's actually been signed, and that it's from a set edition size.

We'll still be offering the $20 option here and there, and are hoping with v2.0 to be able to offer a wide range of prints for a wide range of collectors.

$40 plus postage for a tiny edition of only 25 copies is pretty fair imo, but like I said, we'll definitely have prints down the road in a variety of price points! :D
