Does anyone think this is weird, or is it just me. Why isn't the money going directly to ROA. And why is Phlegm being portrayed as some starving artist who needs painting supplies? His prints sell out in flashes, as well as all his books. Maybe it's time to raise prices?

I would just leave it at the first gift, personally. No sense in further complicating things just because some people weren't on board.

No one will receive any compensation for this venture. There will be no prints or drawings as a result of the effort. These are gifts and donations.

If you are questioning my integrity, then your barking up the wrong tree. I have been and will continue to be transparent.

Sounds like a nice gesture... I once had a pizza delivered to a "starving" artist

NRGball, I really hope you got in touch with Phlegm prior to setting this wall commission up!? Expecting that he will do a mural just cause you have a wall and equipment, is not cool I think. And by arranging fundraiser like this, involving more people, you're putting him in a touchy situation about saying no if he doesn't feel like doing it.

You read my mind- I was about to contribute and then I thought about all of the likely issue and holdups that will arise from this. I'm sure the OP's heart is in the right place, but does Phlegm know that this is even being proposed? Do you have confirmation that he is interested? Trying to commit an artist who is plenty busy to something this in depth (unbeknownst to him) is setting this thing up for failure.

Best of luck OP, I hope it pans out, but this has Totoro Giclees written all over it.

EDIT: Another point of confusion- first the club was to "Gift a drawing by ROA to Phlegm" for $1,500. Now it has transformed into commissioning a wall for Phlegm to do a mural on...

This is seriously one of the weirdest things I've ever see go down here.

Thanks for your concern. It's all set up and he knows about. In fact he's excited about it. Cheers.

It should also be said that neither I nor anyone else will have any input into what he paints.
