I never thought there was this kind of demand for Peanuts art prints. No way they keep getting pumped out unless it makes money though, right?

I might be interested in 1 of them but not if the signature is printed onto the image like that.

fudge like this makes me glad that Calvin & Hobbes isn't getting this kind of treatment.

If you live long enough, you'll be able to get one when enough time has passed after Watterson dies and your Disney device is uploaded with the animated feature whatever. Patience.

i have very mixed feelings on his stance on his merchandising.

i think in the long run it is diminishing the longevity and impact of his comic. but maybe i dont know what kids are into.

but support his passion and base ideas behind it.

would honestly just love to see what he is into now as an artist. would love to see his paintings. and wish we could see a few prints.

so while i very much respect that he feels very passionate that the comic should speak for itself and nothing else.

but at the same time i dont think i'm a bad fan for wanting to see ANYTHING else from him.

I feel bad in a way as well as I've bought the complete set of Calvin & Hobbes, so can't really go any further up than that. I know I'll be buying a set for my nephew when he's old enough.

You did see Bill's guest on Pearls Before Swine right?

i got to see an exhibit of alot of original strips and paintings of his at the college where his collection lives. it was spectacular.

in my no basis theory i think he paints and sells under a pseudonym.

Nothings says Peanuts, Snoopy and Woodstock like a nice tropical beach scene or a float down a river.

I truly respect these artists and think the originals are pure talent, but turning them into mini, cheap giclees is just pure greed at this point. I read on some DHM social media site that had them thanking the Peanuts groups that support their work; I'm sure they're selling more than enough to make these releases profitable. Funny, before Kenny Random did Hard Times there was almost no Peanuts art available. Now, market completely flooded.
