What is Dark Hall Mansion? ( http://www.darkhallmansion.com/ )
-----------------------------Dark Hall Mansion wrote:Dark Hall Mansion is a labor of love. We are passionate about art, about the work of print and poster artists present and past, known and not so known, here and abroad, we are committed to bringing their skills to the forefront on projects that are both compelling and exciting, bridging their studios and creations directly with your walls or secreted collections.
There is a lot of talent out there, make no mistake, every day dynamic works are being created by artists known and underground. It’s as easy as it is a pretentious a claim for a gallery or publisher to state they can vet or sift it all, it’s also short of honest, yet the truth is, compelling work DOES speak for itself, demanding its own recognition. Artists recognized or obscure, young or grizzled, known or underground, on the rise, inside or outsider, Dark Hall Mansion will not be constrained in its releases or in its project’s scopes..and your life will be the better for it. We are that trip just down the darkened Hall, behind the unknown door, lilting knocker tapping via unseen hand, you will never know what’s coming, you will not be able to look away. Pure, forged and unbound creativity, projects and works that will bring you back, projects we all care about, we will never release meandering work that doesn’t excite. We will not bore ourselves or you.
Whether a top poster designer insanely crafting tomorrow’s passion print or artists specifically sought, believing in their skills, to collaborate on projects ranging from licensed Hollywood cinema classics to the unbridled purity of beloved and well diversified Rock, old and new, or curious efforts to raise a wee ghost or two from Pop Art or Rock’s past to reignite a film, a topic, a genre they’ve never explored-we will simply not be constrained in our reach. Not even by our own expectations.
Stunning prints, uncompromising quality of paper and inks, the most beautiful of prints, folios and originals, all from top artists or the mad studio hermit ferreting away his creations on the other side of the globe, work dedicated to cinema, music or topics a bit skewed, a turn down the rabbit hole, a stroll down the darkened Hall, perhaps a story no longer often sung or heard…
Dark Hall Mansion..where Walt, Andy and Murnau all come to play.

DHM-Seminal Film Series:
Dark Hall Mansion wrote:The aim of Dark Hall Mansion’s DHM-Seminal Film Series is the very bridging of cinema as art and art as cinema. To create beautiful prints for some of the most resonant American and international films, distilling film and imagery while beholden to no specific screening or advertising obligations. Our aim right from the onset was to honor the tradition of vintage film posters while simultaneously releasing our artists from its commercial constraints. The single goal,to create stunning pieces that are intended, from their inception, to be true works of art that stand alone as just that. The very essence of each film to be distilled and rendered in such a fashion that anyone, even on the most cursory of viewings, will at once appreciate the prints for their visual beauty or in the historical context of what made these films so relevant in the first place.
