I own a Rare Owsley Stanley Silver Belt Buckle, it is rare because it does not contain the normal border are that this piece is usually seen with. Wondering if anyone can give me an idea of it's worth and rarity.

Put it on eBay and find out. It's obviously worth a bunch all things considered.
Also check out the ExpressoBeans rules and don't be posting about your belt buckle's value in the art discussion threads! 8)

:P Haha, they are def antiques now but I am still looking to aquire one for a reasonable price. I had been talking to Owsley right before his death about getting one but obviously that communication stopped after he passed.

That's cool, I don't know any information on the buckle, but I'm looking forward to finding out. Hopefully someone can steer you in the right direction. I have never seen one like that before, who knows, maybe it's a one of a kind. Did you buy it from the man himself ?

Thanks for the post - that buckle is great.

Are you serious guerilladubber? Where would you suggest he does it? Or are you saying this isn't art?

No doubt...that is a piece of history there

I saw a silver one fetch $2500 on eBay before he passed away, and that was a more recent one then what you have. I would imagine close to twice that (or more) nowdays?

Still kicking myself for not picking up a bronze from the man himself in lot for $750...I just didn't have the cash at the time :?
As a former chemist myself (not illicit), I find that guy amazing

Thanks for sharing the pictures with us :pint:

Sick buckle. The bronze and silver ones can still be purchased through Starfinder, almost pulled the trigger a few times, still might :hanging:

Via txt from my friend GRR, who sold these side by side with Owsley for a summer or two:
"No quite sure of the authenticity. Never seen this mold (ever). Also missing the outer ring? @ the 1983 copyright imprint. I'd ask for an extremely through background and explanation for these never before seen features. & 83 copyright...."
He may have thought I was about to purchase this (as far as warning on authenticity)- I just sent the 2 pix an said 'what's up w this?'
but he is undoubtably my go to guy on this buckle- for what it's worth.

Thanks Dubber!! I talked to one of my friends who has several of each version bought directly through Owsley through the years and he had never seen or heard of this either.
