I was looking to grab a variant, but the site crashed and had other obligations to take care of in the meantime. Was able to run back shortly afterward and grab a regular, so I'm happy.

I was able to step away from work when they we supposed dropped, kept retrying but nothing. Unfortunately I couldnt wait around for it to come back up. When I was able to come back, they were sold out. Disappointing, but life will go on. I bought the Jessica Seamans Wicker Man print as a consolation prize.

Halloween was delivered today. Didn't receive a ship notification and it was never listed on my USPS informed delivery. So just a heads up if you are waiting for yours.

Anyone else perplexed by how these were packaged? Both rolled with the printed side out and with the kraft paper rolled up with them, so to remove carefully was interesting.

If the natural roll of the paper is up and down and face down then it makes perfect sense

i mean print side out is normal, and technically 'better'.

but you are saying there was a layer of kraft paper between the prints as well?

After receiving thousands of tubes of posters/prints from around the globe over 20 years of collecting, and seeing stuff packaged with the ink side out less than probably 5 times...that is anything but 'normal' and I don't get why it would be better?

Especially when they are rolled with the kraft and not within, especially void of tissue...just an odd way of doing it, if not completely asinine.

So you're saying you need tissue to protect the face down print... From the kraft? The tissue is only to protect face up prints from the rolling edge of the print in the kraft

Reading comprehension isn't your thing. The prints are rolled backwards. The ink is out and the back of the print is on the inside. Usually prints are rolled INSIDE kraft, with tissue on the top most printed side/print. These just had kraft rolled within it. Happy 2024.

i mean all of obey stuff is packed that way. which is tens of thousands of prints a year from one vendor. seen it many many times when helping friends get prints from his store over many years.

might not be normal to you. but it is a normal way to ship stuff. it isn't like they rolled it long ways or something. its a way to do it, and shipping rolling side out is actually something that is done to benefit the printing/ink/paper.

also, rolling in kraft is also a normal safe method to ship prints with. and im assuming the prints didn't come damaged or scuffed? as noted elsewhere, tissue paper is more like...visual reassurance, its not something that is actually needed depending on the printing. its more about how you roll it that will cause damages. again, this is how obey has done it for many years without tissue and just sheets of kraft with rolling outwards. and if you are rolling outwards, the roll is on the back of the print where there isn't any ink so no concern of scuffing.

so yeah, get that you might not be used to it, but its actually to ship it safer and with concern and care towards paper and printing. if it did come damaged, that sucks and they should be able to send you a replacement.

Lol I guess not. I haven't opened my tubes yet but that does sound pretty crazy. Now you've got me curious so I'll crack my orders tonight
