Those MONSTER Blu-rays are going to look redonkulous in person. I got an LED TV last year, and that + old movies on Blu-ray is frigging crazy.

CASABLANCA and THE THING are the two movies I use to show off that set: they look incredibly sharp. Here's hoping that Uni CREATURE Blu-ray joins their ranks.

That was anticipation!

Riding your bike down to the 7-11 to pick up your 3D glasses, maybe grabbing a Slurpee. Sitting on them all week, waiting for 4pm Saturday when, through your own home entertainment system you could be inundated w/ optical input unlike anything anyone on this blue planet had ever seen... well, maybe it turned out to be less than spectacular in the end.

And, maybe, at some point, your parents, Miller in hand, passed through the living room, sort of blinked at you, and asked, "What's that?' And, perhaps, although they were well familiar w/ the movie, you had a hard time explaining just what the fuss was all about because you, yourself, had become disillusioned... Wait, this was a good memory, right?

Yeah... but not in awesome newly remastered glory. Watch the video to give you an idea. The hiss in Dracula's audio track is atrocious.... cleaning that up (and doing the same to the whole set - audio and video) is going to be amazing.

I'll be grabbing that Monsters Blu set. I also want the Hitchcock Masterpiece collection and that massive Bond collection coming out.

OH. MY. GAWD!!!! Thanks for the heads up!!!!!

Wait, after looking at the movie list, there are some pretty subpar offerings as well, like the latter movies. And no Rope?

I am pretty sure Rope is included in that set. Just a heads up to others, the set is also available from Amazon UK for a lower price and in a cooler box: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008D1TNCE/

Netflix is horseshit quality compared to blu-ray.

I second that. I watched The Thing in "HD" on Netflix and I'm watching the blu-ray as we speak and it's a world of difference.

Netlfix HD only does 720p output.

Seriously can't wait for the Uni Monster Blu-ray collection to drop. I will literally sit there and watch every film and special feature in one weekend. Really hoping we get another Ansin monster print at SDCC this year. Last year we got 'The Mummy'

Edit: Oh man...I just remembered all the great soul music from those times too.

I've seen Gordon Lightfoot a handful of times 8)

For real. I can't figure out why.

First time you flip on a blacklight near 20-something Mondo prints and they suddenly explode with color-- not to mention the fact that they look like completely different "variant" editions of themselves-- you'll get it. We didn't even know we HAD a blacklight in my household until stumbling upon one in the garage, and after some experimentation...well, you'll surely see video and pics from next week's bbq.

I've seen the pics, so I understand what it looks like. Still don't get it. If I need a special light (or lack thereof) to make me appreciate a piece, then that piece is not something I think I need. The whole backlight thing just seems a bit...silly. To be fair though, GID stuff does absolutely nothing for me. GID would actually make me NOT buy a print.

To each their own. No disrespect Doc, just discussion' :pint:
