Noob question though - am looking to frame some 5x5s very soon, how do you go about displaying them safely? I've read about mounting corners and different types of tape (archival?) to secure the print to the mount prior to framing but I'm wondering if I'm missing something?
Learning all these framing terms is like learning a new language!
Thanks in advance!
Are you planning to mat them? If so, then I would suggest archival photo corners since 5x5s are so tiny. If you're not matting, then you don't need any kind of corners/mounting since the print will just go into the frame as-is. If you mat over the edges of the print, clear corners would be fine, but if you decide to display it like you would in a scrapbook or old-time frame (on top of a mat/backer with the corners showing), there are slightly fancier black or white paper corners that are nicer for display. I've done it both ways with various small prints, it comes down to taste.
Here are the corners I buy:

That's probably the best frame-up I've seen of that print. Mine is at the framers right now, but I kind of wished I had seen this one beforehand. The white mat works surprisingly well.
It's a tricky print to do right, but you nailed it. Very classy.

Thank you Emac. Since I first started collecting 5x5's I've kept the same frames and mat all the way through and have simply kept them different by the inner mat colour. I think it's just enough to give them their own feel...

Super classy. Where are you getting your frames? Or are these custom jobs?

They're from a UK business
http://www.dandsframes.co.uk/. They have an Ebay store (seller: mountman-no1) which is where I found them in the first place.
The frames are 8"x8" at ~£10 per frame delivered. Although I do have some more pricey custom stuff, it doesn't always have to be that way (thankfully for my wallet
) and by the same token, I probably wouldn't use their store for any other art that I own.

Here's my Firewatch print. I wanted a natural wood frame reminding the pines and an orange bevel with the matt to highlight the fire in the background. Really happy with the result!
