Hell yeah man! After new museum glass, acid free backer and mat, I'm in this thing for 30 bucks and maybe 2 hours. Just stay the hell outta my thrift stores 8)

Won the spusta frame up contest with this sexy mini beast. Found the frame at a goodwill and knew it was made for the mini branches with birds. A red mat and museum glass later it turned out amazing.

Haha! srdzevon, that frame is sooo over the top & kitschy but damn, does it work... I looove it! What a score and a most supreme restoration job mate, it's real easy to go to far when rubbing back a painted frame but that is some fine, perfect work, well done!
Absolutely agree with you on the print too, so much going on in this little gem, one of me favourite pieces for sure... Dig the religious overtones too & also feel there is some kind of other worldly thingee going on too, almost like an alien abduction aspect about it, what with the discarded shoe left lying in the plowed cornfield 'n all! Or it just could be that sheet of blotter acid I ate 13 years ago... Damn probes!
Anyways, sooopurrb work my friend, can't wait to see the next one... Keep 'em coming!

Yeah it is over the top! I don't really like ornate frames

My original plan was to find one of those metal holographic Jesus pictures with the light above it. Like this

But when you're looking for something like that, it seems they never pop up. I think the one I did fine turned out pretty snazzy though.
Thanks for the nice words about it. It looks great in the photo, but looks even better in real life I think.

Super cool thread...do you cut your own mattes, or do you have those done by a frame shop?

I have them done by my local Hobby Lobby. I'd like to start cutting my own, but right now it's just easier to go buy them. I like having a large selection. Usually just bring everything in and pick out mats. I buy a lot from there, so they are pretty cool about it.
