Nope! Those are crazy awesome.
I'm trying to get back to destroying some frames, but it's hard to find the time when there's hot weather and beer to be had. Got a couple more that won't be near as fancy as my last one, but they still should get some art on the walls.

Here's my latest.
Caught my neighbor trying to throw this out with the trash.
Cut it up, sanded the crappy looking finish off, glued it back together, and rubbed it down with a new coat of stain. Also beat it up a little for added oldenness.
iPhone pics since my comp is on the fritz, but they get the point across I think.
I dig this one a lot!

looks great! ....do you use MORE than just glue for the corners????
I'm kind of making it up as I go
I've started cutting a, corner block I guess. It spans the joint and I put a couple of screws in both sides to hold it together. Hell, I don't know what I'm doing. Nothing's came apart so far.

haha just wondering
Daaamnn... Looks bloody grouse srdzevon! You're getting quite adept at this mate, each piece better than the last... Looove it!
Off topic again, sorry but we did this piece the other week for another local artist, kinda interesting, definitely strange! Her interpretation of nickel, reminded me of those funky frame artworks from the last page...

Here's my latest attempt at a frame. This isn't exactally a reclaimed frame, but it is reclaimed wood. I found this oooooold ass siding and it was just screaming at me to make something. It's got a great bevel on one side and some killer old red paint.
I ripped the board length wise like so. See the cut line there at the 3 1/2" mark? it's hard to see in this pic, but the bevel is on the right and everything on the left is just a nice flat board.
I wanted to just use the beveled half and make a traditional type frame with 45ed corners, but..... I messed up my second cut. and the board was just long enough for the frame I wanted, so I had to come up with something else.
Here's a rough fitting of the print I think it looks pretty sweet.
Here's a detail after assembly. This shows the beveled board pretty well and how nasty and tasty the surface of the wood is. Notice i reversed the bevel from the above pic. That seems to work better I think.
Here's the wood after staining. I like how it makes the red paint pop, but the wood is a little too dark I think. I think i'm going to try a paste wax and see how that looks. Any suggestions on getting the red brighter but keeping the wood lighter?
Well, that's it for now. Got a few other things to do before it's finished, but I will post better pics of the final frame later if you guys want to see them.

Dude.
Thanks man!

I think a good cleaning and a light coat of wax might be the key. Now I need more wax.

Bump up top - that Mogwai frame rules.
srdzevon said, "Oh fudge!!! That's awesome! I hate you".
Thanks man! This is my very first totally made from scratch frame. I like how it's looking so far.

Cleaned and polished. The red's looking pretty good I think.
