Yeah that Don is a little too much imo. You want the eye to be drawn to the image and not the matte/frame.

Also...I bet that was hella spensive

But...whatever you like more power to you. 8)

See, the problem here is the matte to frame ratio is off. Put all of that into one more frame and... perfection!

I just framed up "The Fall" with something I put together on American Frame. It gives me an excuse to post up pics of my "Aurora Borealis" which I had done by a local shop last winter. Eventually, I'll put something together for "Homeward Bound." Let me know what you think.

Thanks guys. The Fall is definitely my favorite of everything on my wall. I agree, the DKNG mammoth definitely works well with AB, steal away.

I agree, The Fall looks great! (of course, so do the others, but The Fall is a favorite of mine). If you don't mind me asking- what are some of the framing details? Really - I'd like to duplicate your order at AF, or at least use it as a starting point... colors, sizes, etc? Would you mind sharing? You can put in a PM if you don't want to post that detail here.

I dont mind putting it out there. I dont have the exact measurements bc they arent required for AF, you put in the size of the piece and then work from there. The only thing involving measuring was the overlap for the mats, and for that I think I chose 1/4". I used black coffee colored frame (Arts & Crafts Collection), the base layer mat was either "summer" or "curry" and the top layer was I think "spice" from the Crescent Select Collection. I'm not positive on the colors, but I'm pretty sure that was what I was working with. I don't have my invoice anymore. I went with UV plexi-glass option and it is archivally framed. The frame came with all the hardware needed except for the frame wire and the frame itself was also assembled, which was nice. This was my first effort at framing something myself, other than a temporary drop-in, I used the how-to from this site and I have to say, it was a very easy process. Hope that helps.

Not Hans. I can't tell you because I'm doing a giveaway soon and the stipulation for the winner is that they have to name my avatar. Hint- totally tubular 80's movie

Nothing too fancy, but pleased with the results/cost ratio (custom frames):

Ignore the bits of kraft paper you can see peeking behind the edge of the frame:

Very nice. I like that you matted out the border.

Agreed. I looked at mine afterwards (which is in a drop-in) and the white border is kind of distracting to the print. Well done. Would you care to share the deets of the frame and matting?

Thanks for the comments. I'm really happy with how this turned out. I had this done by my framer. There's a black matte under the blue one. I chose a slightly fancy black frame with a sheen to it. Here's a close up:
