Different types of framing glass/? about cleaning

So a friend of mine is putting a frame job together, very DIY, for me. It looks great, but he went to clean the glass, but as he was cleaning it, it became very streaky. It's a reclaimed frame, a really nice one at that, so it may have some sort of special glass in it. Neither one of us can figure it out and were hoping someone on here might be able to tell us what might be causing this and suggest something to clean it. Thanks!

Sounds like an anti-reflective coating (Museum glass) which is prone to streaking if you clean it "mom style", like a gunslinger. Use an ammonia-free cleaner, spray the rag not the glass, spot clean small areas at a time.
