I received a collection of movie posters that were stored in a garage and could have been like that for a decade. They were originally from an owner of a movie theater so some of these can be 10 from the same movie. Another issue is most of these tubes were packed full of posters and might be hard to even pull out. I’m wondering the best way to get these flat and into a flat file. I’m guessing there’s 500 posters so I’m wondering how many I can safely weigh down at a time. Thank you for any input!

One at a time, brother. And since they are thin, light posters they'll be easy to flatten. Use some books on each corner, maybe only do 10 posters at a time. Or get some foam board and those black clips to seal them together like a sandwich. And obviously make sure they're all lined up properly so you don't crease the edges.
I'm pretty darn curious on what you found too.

this is my method. try to keep them out of direct and ambient sunlight so they won't fade. nice haul!
