Framed prints with spacers not laying flat

I have an issue with some prints I've had framed with spacers not laying perfectly flat. Not sure if this was because the prints weren't flattened fully before framing but any idea on what to do in this case? Is it take them out of the frame, flatten them, and then reframe?

Do you mean the poster is matted and not laying flat behind the mat? When adhering a larger piece of art as a poster there is usually two ways to do it, one is to use one wide piece of tape (acid free or use wheat starch and mulberry sheets) and afix to the middle top of the print. As the paper absorbs moisture or drys out during the seasons the paper can then be flexable and change with the humidity. there will be slight buckling but minimal Another way is to tape twice at the top close to the center of the art.

If the framer taped too close to the edges or taped to much as the art gives and releases moisture it will severely buckle. I've had customers bring these pieces into the shop and I ended up having to flat plate iron them with a heat press. Paper needs to expand and contract with the environment. You can dry mount but there goes much value in your piece, then again, it will be beautifully perfectly flat forever.
