Hi everyone.
I’m completely new to the collecting art scene but I’m pretty excited to be involved cause I just dig contemporary art!
I recently picked up my first few giclee prints and I noticed a small scuff mark on the black area on one of the prints.
Is this a common occurrence on giclee prints? Should I return it? It was advertised as mint condition.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

It's no more common on a giclee than it is on a screen print. How big is "small"? How big is the print overall?
Bottom line, if you as the buyer are not satisfied, you should demand satisfaction. But there is a fine line between wanting a mint print and just being completely anal about it.

The print is 14" X 22" and the deepest scuff is about a cm long.
It probably won't show once framed but I guess I'm just concerned it will have an affect on the trade or sell on price.
But you're right, I don't want to be too anal about it.
Here's a photo, what do you think?

In my experience scuff marks on a giclee (especially the black ink) is susceptible to scuffs.
That being said, if it is scuffed its not mint.
PS: Behind the glass, your scuff will not be noticeable. (depends on how bad it is)

I hear he's got a killer return policy.
T.K.C.
Thanks for the advice guys.
I wasn’t sure if this was the norm and I really didn’t want to be anal about it, but I was worried it would be a problem if I wanted to sell it at a later date.
I think I will return it and try and get another one.
Cheers
