Howdy guys, I'm framing my art as I get it, but I'm worried that my framing store doesn't necessarily have my best interests at heart, so... help me out: what are your framing best-practices? How can I make sure I'm doing this right?

I'm currently having my art framed behind museum glass without matting or spacers. It's been suggested that I go back and add spacers to all the art. My resistance to matt the art is purely aesthetic, I don't like the look and prefer the art to run flush to the frame. I'm prepared to go back and have spacers put in, but need more convincing if matting really is the way to go.
