I need to ship an expensive 24 x 24 print. Wanted to know a good suggestion of a brand maybe of kraft paper, or if the lb. matters. 30lb, 40lb., 60lb. paper. Looking online where to get a good roll but there are a million brands and not sure which is better. Don't want a paper to be too heavy and damage the print, etc. Thanks for your help.

If it is expensive, ship it flat.

That just seems more complicated than I want to do. Ha. How would I do that?

Two pieces of foam core with 4-6 pieces of cardboard. You could also use 1/8" plywood. Make a sandwich with the print in the middle of the foam core.

Suggest putting a sheet of glassine over the face of the art. If you ship flat, in addition to the foam core described, I completely endorse a thin piece of plywood outside then a box around it. I usually also. Put a plastic sleeve around the art bc I'm paranoid about water (condensation) this time of year. Remember to put FRAGILE stickers or lettering outside. Overkill but the paranoia is worth it to protect expensive pieces.

If rolled and packed right, you can use just about any craft paper that isn't tissue paper and you'll be fine. Even the thinnest craft paper, the stuff that's just a step or 2 above tissue paper, provides the protection you need as long as the print can't slide around in the tube. In fact I don't like the 60lb. stuff. Overkill Imo.

I usually get my kraft paper from the painter's section of my local hardware store. The kraft from there has the perfect thickness.

Thanks for the suggestions. I trust myself to roll and not damage the print at all, just wanted to know the 60lb. being to thick or not. Had a store near by that sold a good thickness kraft paper, but the rolls are not wide enough. Nedd at least 36 inches to have some breathing room on the ends.
