I sent them an email about this, since the email they sent me says buy one get one free.

You are right though, it does suck.

from what I understand, their customer service is a bit lacking.

I have done research and can't figure this one out. Most of my regular Fillmore posters are in Itoya books or in Mylar sleeves from Bags Unlimited. I am happy with their product but I need sleeves for larger prints and I do not want to buy 10 or 25 of each from Bags Unlimited because I only need 4 or 5. I need sizes ranging from 20 x 26 up to near 40x 50. If I am going to spend $300 bucks on supplies, I rather buy another poster.
I now have a lot of these larger posters in top loaders ( like the baseball card top loaders but larger) and I‘m afraid they’ll get destroyed by the PVC acidic material.
Can anyone tell me if the sleeves that they claim to be archival which are made by non migrating PVC on this metro associates website are okay?
Has anyone heard of these guys at Metro Associates? Website is : www.printsleeves.com
Anyone have a better alternative for larger posters ?
Thx,
Steve
Definitely don't use the baseball card style top loaders for long-term storage without other protection. I had a long talk with a dude at Ultra Pro and they make absolutely no claim that they are at all archival. I Mylar and then throw them in those toploaders, which works okay, but those MA sleeves look like a better option. They claim they're archival... guess you have to believe it. Pretty inexpensive too.
In so many words they said the PVC is archival and is great for long term storage but wouldn't vouch for the corrugated boards in the Economy Archival Sleeve that is removable unlike the Ultimate Archival Sleeve. The only problem with the Ultimate sleeve is the board is sewn in so you cannot take it out to hinge your print. Damn! And it was a pretty good deal too.

Just in case anyone was interested in the sleeves from Metro Associates/Print Sleeves.

FYI... Jerry's New Year's Day sale has some pretty good prices. I just picked up another two 5 packs of the 24X36 refills for $79.93 shipped.
It is a brand new year, but for one more day, you can still take advantage of Jerry's 2008 Pricing. This is your last chance though, so be sure not to miss it! But that is not all we are offering....

For one day only, take an extra 15% OFF any order! No minimum purchase necessary! Just Use Coupon Code JF15!

Coupon Code JF15 offer will officially expire at 11:59 PM (EST) Thursday, 01/01/09, and will no longer be offered after that time! All E-mail Offers and Coupons are only redeemable through the Jerry's Artarama web site and cannot be redeemed at any of our retail locations or through our mail order catalog.

Offer excludes Aller-Air Studio Air Purifiers, Genuine Gold Leaf, Soltek Easels, All Winsor & Newton and Liquitex Professional Color Lines, Oversize Items, Super Sale Items and Closeout / Overstock Items. All of these items are already available at the lowest price possible, and cannot be further discounted!

The offers and discounts in this email cannot be combined with any other Jerry's promotions, including offers made in previous or subsequent e-mails.
