In so many words they said the PVC is archival and is great for long term storage but wouldn't vouch for the corrugated boards in the Economy Archival Sleeve that is removable unlike the Ultimate Archival Sleeve. The only problem with the Ultimate sleeve is the board is sewn in so you cannot take it out to hinge your print. Damn! And it was a pretty good deal too.pjposters3 wrote:Definitely don't use the baseball card style top loaders for long-term storage without other protection. I had a long talk with a dude at Ultra Pro and they make absolutely no claim that they are at all archival. I Mylar and then throw them in those toploaders, which works okay, but those MA sleeves look like a better option. They claim they're archival... guess you have to believe it. Pretty inexpensive too.yanxrul wrote:Question for everyone:
I have done research and can't figure this one out. Most of my regular Fillmore posters are in Itoya books or in Mylar sleeves from Bags Unlimited. I am happy with their product but I need sleeves for larger prints and I do not want to buy 10 or 25 of each from Bags Unlimited because I only need 4 or 5. I need sizes ranging from 20 x 26 up to near 40x 50. If I am going to spend $300 bucks on supplies, I rather buy another poster.
I now have a lot of these larger posters in top loaders ( like the baseball card top loaders but larger) and I‘m afraid they’ll get destroyed by the PVC acidic material.
Can anyone tell me if the sleeves that they claim to be archival which are made by non migrating PVC on this metro associates website are okay?
Has anyone heard of these guys at Metro Associates? Website is : www.printsleeves.com
Anyone have a better alternative for larger posters ?
Thx,
Steve
Just in case anyone was interested in the sleeves from Metro Associates/Print Sleeves.
