I recently purchased an Olly Moss Howl's Moving Castle Variant and when I received it in the mail it had quite a few orange ink spots on the back. The front is pristine and the seller listed the print as "mint" and assures me that this is typical with Mondo prints. I have purchased several prints directly from Mondo in Austin and never had this issue. Is this typical of the Moss prints and does it affect the value of the print? Thanks!

Shouldn't matter at all if it's just on the back. I have a few posters where you can see ink come through but once it's framed who cares.

Stray ink from being on the racks or slid over each other when still wet, nature of the printing process.

Remember these are not giclees.

To some people it will affect the value. The question is, will it bother you? Screenprints are not made in some hermetically sealed room. There are many imperfections, such as ink on the back. While we all would want a clean image area and as little conditional issues with the edges, some ink on the back doesn't sway me one way or the other.

I actually like ink spots or smears on the back and even sometimes on the border.. it's a reminder that it's screenprint that someone made rather than hit the "print" button on

stout avengers is a good example. there's a line on the back of a lot of the copies and stray ink on the border in a few places like this..

If you've ever been to a screenprinting shop you'll notice that there is ink EVERYWHERE, just how it goes. As long as the actual front of the poster is good, no harm, no foul.

I am pretty tough on examining my prints, but ink on the back is not an issue for me at all. As some have suggested, it is a reminder of the imperfections inherent in the screen printing process.

your not the first, nor the last (I expect) to ask this question. As others have said, it's part of the process.

Ink Happens.
