I'm trying to finalize up a deal on purchasing a pair of 24"x36" paintings on gessobord (2" deep) from the UK and looking to get them shipped to the United States and one of the last details to line out on the deal is how they should be packaged and shipped. If anyone has done this before and has had success, how'd you do it? Any tips would be appreciated. I've asked them to check into local pack and ship centers that may be able to both package, ship, and insure the items. They are located near Preston if you happen to know of any places that would be capable of that in that area.
Also any tips for the customs documents would be helpful as well. The paintings are originally of a US origin if that makes any difference.

There's a shipper in the UK that I've seen referenced quite a few times for big freight shipping and other expensive items like that you could probably go with. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of it.

Yep, these are the guys I have heard great things about. Steve at Flight Logistics is the name you hear an awful lot of - likely for good reason.
