Well, wanted to post a quick update on the new projects I'm working on. A buddy wants to turn one of the files into a coffee table w/glass top so that should be an exciting project to tackle. For his, we're using a smaller file (41x28) and it's already got the top off so that should help with the process.

Here's gambit putting in work on his file.. After a long morning of sanding it down, it's ready to have the base/top built, and get the painting done!

Also queue'd up is a project for Chandler53. I ran out of time yesterday so didn't get as much paint off in the first stripping phase but it'll get there! God bless paint remover. :D

I'll post as I get more updates!

Personally I think that looks super rad as is. I'd put a mahogany top on it and call it a day!

It does look pretty sick with the naked metal.. problem is the label holders on the drawers don't come off on this unit so it's tough to get the paint/primer out of the nooks of it. Ultimately, it's up to gambit as to what he wants it to end up looking like. May do a flat black finish with white drawers and black handles which would end up looking pretty smooth.. especially once the glass top gets put on 8)

Annnnd Chandler53's file has been completed finally! The only thing it's missing are the label holders, which are drying now.. They'll be the same color as the sides but here's a look at the assembled file! He's a Texans fan (and America, I assume) which explains the badass red/white/blue color selections :pint:

Just finished another project I've been tinkering with for a few months... I love dark wood but HATE doing the staining on such a big piece. Next time I'll be investing in a spray apparatus or just buying darker wood :pint:

You can find some really good deals on Craigslist and with a few hours, elbow grease, and a trip to Home Depot, can end up with something pretty sweet.

In other news, Gambit was doing some research and found a new plastic paint that we're going to try on his from the top of this page. Just put together his wood framed top so a few coats of paint and a quick trip to the glass shop and he'll be all set!
