Anyone have a preferred craft paper they've found to be economical but also really good? I'm looking for a 30" roll that's not like 700' long since I don't have room for a roll holder/cutter.
I know you said you don't have room for a cutter/roll, but I use this:
http://www.uline.com/Product/Detail/S-1 ... l-30-x-720
It's a bit costly up front at $36/roll and $37/cutter, but with the smaller rolls at Hobby Lobby or Michaels running $4.99-$6.99 each, it's a better investment.
You could also always fold down the cutter after each use and put it, and the roll, under your bed or something.

Before I got a cutter, and after I got fed up with the tiny rolls from Hobby Lobby and Michaels, I purchased this from Home Depot:

It's thick and sturdy, but it's also 35", so you'll have to cut off 5 inches before tubing.

thanks man! I've looked into the homedepot rolls as well.. that's some heavy paper! Really hoping to find something that's 30" though, don't know why but it's really annoying cutting those 5" every timeiambillyg wrote:I know you said you don't have room for a cutter/roll, but I use this:

Lowe's has a comparably thick paper at 28"; good for smaller tubes.

Oops, lost the rest of my post!! I was going to say you could try a hardware store like Lowe's/Home Depot and look for the painter's kraft paper rolls. Those usually are smaller in roll size and are just as sturdy. Good luck.

Uline is a great source if you are just looking for regular craft paper.
If you are looking for archival craft paper for picture frame backing dust covers we have some here:

That Tyvek paper looks insane. I've never seen it used before, though (I have the blue kraft paper).fdi1001 wrote:Uline is a great source if you are just looking for regular craft paper.

LOL, the Tyvek is serious stuff. Generally dont recommend that for most frames. It is more for frames that are being moved and abused a lot such as people traveling the country selling in art shows.
