Scored these 2 on Craigs list for $150
Plastic is already down Cant wait to get started with sanding and painting. I'm thinking of Metallic gray for the outside and blue for the Drawer faces.
I plan on updating this thread with some process pics, if anyone is interested.
Any one have some good advice on flat file restoring or best practice for print storage within the cabinet (Bags , boards, weights...etc)?

Are you going to keep them stacked or have them in different areas? I am excited to see your progress.

Try list alert for a bunch of terms like flat file, map file, architectural file, etc. you'll get sick of the emails but find some good stuff.JMS1984 wrote:Jealous! How do you guys find these on Craigslist is it just listed as flat file?

this thread inspired me to take a look on craigslist and i just found a gorgeous looking 4 drawer wooden one for $20...i should have it shortly...its on wheels too! pretty excited about it...now my extra large prints will have a flat home instead of a 6in tube...
anyone what to offer up some tips on storing prints inside a flat file? do you put paper between them? do you line the drawers with anything special?

Is worth it to order 100 qty. depending on how many prints you have.

Painted the drawers too (which was difficult to not get drip marks), but didn't take an process shots. I may end up redoing the drawer fronts when the weather gets warmer. First chance I get I'll attach the handles and upload the final product!
