Asia is flush with cash and the demand is high there after his last show.
The way I see it, once art goes to Asia, forget about ever seeing it in the US or EU again.
Thus destroying supply & causing prices to rise.

People keep citing this Asia connection, but why are we just seeing an almost overnight price increase of 3-4x now?

It's been over 2 years since the big auction results in HK for those two aliases, and just shy of 2 years since his exhibition in Hong Kong.

If you list an Invader for sale, it's not Chinese buyers inquiring. It's galleries and people with FOMO.

That's just it... over the last 2 years, I feel the Asian market quietly bought up a lot of the FS listings. Galleries did the same. All of a sudden, one guy wants to buy his top ISO for his wall, but there are none around... so he offers a little too much, and that's jump #1. Then you get a dozen or so FOMO types... fudge keeps going up. So on and so on. Invader never does big editions and hardly ever releases anything. That combo is what causes things to escalate quickly. (2c)

That's why I took a step back before trying to bu ya few different prints lately. I thought to myself..... with this money I can snag a Banksy. Not that I care for his work, but as an investment it's as close to a sure thing as possible.

Anyway, not to hijack the thread so back to Pejac... :pint:

Is Banksy still a great investment? That fudge can't double every year in perpetuity.
