Luls!!

Edit
I had that fudge last Christmas. I have never fudge so much in my entire life. I was also shaking and writhing on the couch feeling like death. Nothing would stay down, or in rather. What a shitty 36 hours that was.

I'll be honest and I'm sure I'll take some heat cuz maybe some people were just never gonna accept (and let's be honest, his cheese ball solo career makes him an easy target to flame from the get go) a pop guy crossing over into their sacred hippy music realm but Mayer has shockingly become my favorite post-Jerry Dead project guitarist. Holy fudge that dude is truly a gifted talent on guitar. Mayer Oteil and Jeff are the real driving forces behind the success of Dead & Co. Vocally he's a generic singer but it does fit with some of the old Pigpen blues numbers and whatnot. I initially went into this whole thing as a skeptical hater but I'll eat my words, absolutely love what D&C is doing.

It's cool, you're not alone. We were watching Long Strange Trip on Amazon recently and at one point Jerry is talking about folks making the music their own and it being so many different things to different people and that the magic lies in the continuation of musical traditions. It made me realize that Dead and Co is not something to hate, it's just another continuation of that tradition and it is bringing people into the love, which is a great thing. But for me personally, I'd much rather continue my appreciation through JRAD ( seeing them tonight!) and the occasional Phil and Friends depending on the lineup.

The whole series has been a random, pointless, and seeming cash grab. And I’m not one who usually says cash grab, as that’s generally what keeps people in business. I guess it doesn’t help they’ve all been turds in my eye as well.
