saw Brian Fallon last night. I think this makes 10 or 11 times I've seen him (solo and Gaslight). last night was acoustic and his first ever performances on piano in public. hometown show in Red Bank.

How was it? I'm considering catching him when he comes through town in March; love Gaslight stuff, but have never heard his solo stuff. Does any GA stuff get into his solo shows?

always great, I love his solo stuff too - so it's a match. for the past few solo tours, it was no gaslight stuff. only solo material. this was a special "hometown" show, so he played a few things I don't think you'll see him play elsewhere.

this was set:

The '59 Sound (The Gaslight Anthem song) (Brian on piano)
Red Lights (Molly and The Zombies song)
Rosemary
If Your Prayers Don't Get To Heaven
Spirit In the Night (Bruce Springsteen cover)
Steve McQueen
Painkillers (Brian on piano)
Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts (The Gaslight Anthem song)
Smoke (Molly and The Zombies song)
The Navesink Banks (The Gaslight Anthem song)
Among Other Foolish Things
Heart of Gold (Neil Young cover) (with Danny Clinch)
A Wonderful Life

Encore:
See You On the Other Side
Forget Me Not (piano)

^^^Awesome, going to try and get my friend to go with me.. Thanks!

Edited to add - Been listening to his solo stuff today; Painkillers and three of his new songs from the upcoming album (If Your Prayers Don't Get to Heaven, Forget Me Not, and See You On The Other Side) are all available via streaming. Really enjoying all of it. Assuming my friend wants to go I will definitely be picking up tickets.

Just got tickets for Afghan Whigs/Built to Spill in Providence 4/23

Debating whether or not to drive down to DC to see Superchunk on 4/3 at the Black Cat. Tuesday night show, lot of effort to get there and back.

Steve Martin and Steep Canyon Rangers, Phish, David Byrne, and plenty of other small bands.
