Glad I got to see him a few times. I first saw him open for Bob Dylan, and like Dylan, he barely said a word. The next time I saw him was a headlining act in a small town and it was really neat to hear him tell stories about being right there with many of the greats from from Elvis to the Cocker, the Stones and Dylan. I haven't had a chance to check out the documentary he commissioned Les Blank to make in the early 70s, but I hope to do that soon.

Sad to see him go. I saw him as a kid in the 80s and then just a few years ago. Both were really good shows.

It's amazing how many great artists he worked with over the years. Glad he made it into the Hall of Fame while he was still around.
