Not underground or old school, but I don't know where else to talk about it, but this new Kendrick is as good as you would think it is. He is quickly moving to "all-time" status for me.

Yeah, I think you can make an argument that Kendrick comes from an old school and underground place, like you could argue that the White Stripes, at heart, were an indie band. i.e. Kendrick coming up through mix tapes is about as close as you get to an indie band coming up on a small label. In terms of old school, I wouldn't say Kendrick's flow is overtly retro (which I think is a good thing), but it it feels in line (to me) with classic rap.

Psyched to hear the new Joey Bada$$ too!
