Looks like it, sucks for that guy as he would have tried to lose those .2 lbs if he had known. Isn't he doing Real estate or something and was bitching about the UFC contracts, rightfully so.... great story line but not for the UFC if he wins..... always a chance....

Non-title for him. Title for Khabib, if he wins.

Yeah, Al is a real estate broker on the side. And he had been bitching at the UFC for years about pay and bonus's. He is perma "ineligible" for bonuses because of some whack 3 strike rule. He just signed a new deal with them though so im assuming hes in a better place now, and also probably got a pay bump for this fight.

Does this bullshit actually work out in UFC's favor in the long run? Conor is going to be paying a number of very large settlements and with how the guy already likes to live I have to imagine this will get him fighting fairly often.

Correction, apparently Al weighed in at 155, so it's for the belt.

It will all work out.

Conor hasn't fought in MMA in nearly 2 years and, while his name hasn't really gone anywhere, this has made him even more polarizing and visible. People who know nothing about MMA know Conor's name.

If Khabib wins tomorrow, this ruckus will force the UFC to set up Conor vs Khabib which will do AMAZING numbers. Big payday for everyone involved then.

Over under this was a stunt to cover up UFC 223 card falling apart before hand. Jus saying UFC raitings have been underperforming and this kinda publicity puts the company in public eye again

I’m trying to put a $100 on Al, +550 with Serra in his corner on the anniversary of his win over St-Pierre at +700.... why not

0 percent. yeah it puts them in the light again, but not a favorable light with "mainstream" media/people.

Also, Al weighed in at 155.2, so per the Athletic Commission it is non title for him. Dana said that if he wins, they would still consider him the champion, which in the end, its a private company so really they can do whatever they want with their titles.

MMA fighter (Fedor Emelianenko) with links to Trump, Cohen is questioned by FBI.

"...His connection with Trump dates back to 2008, when he was signed by Affliction Entertainment, a fight league in which Trump had an ownership stake. Trump announced a joint venture involving MMA and Emelianenko at a news conference on June 5, 2008. Cohen was the league’s chief operating officer."

White said no Irish vs. Khabib in Russia. The fight is to big and if it is ever to take place, it will take place in Vegas. Which was kind of obvious to begin with.
