So…
Where is Ohtani landing?
They say he will probably announce tomorrow.
Grapevine talk:

5. Angels- A long shot. Wouldn’t have to move, he could play up the road for a lot more money and play in October. I’m sure it’s a cakewalk to move if you’re Ohtani. Nothing like I went through last year. :x
4. Chicago Cubs - Nah.
3. SF Giants - Rebuilding, great manager though. The Japanese love the Bay Area.
2. Toronto BJ’s - In and out of customs all year long, and it’s cold as drymounting drymount.
1. LA Dodgers - Yeah probably the call. Stay local. Huge money. Play for one of the top organizations.
Moron for a manager though… signing up for a taste of playoff baseball without a trip to
The World Series. Is that actually fun? Sucks for the fans, I can tell you that… every single autumn.

I just have a sneaking suspicion he’ll get hurt. Wouldn’t be a miracle if he stays healthy?
It’s crazy pitching deep into games once a week, while playing the whole time like it didn’t happen.
So much money, but LA seems to have all the money in the world so maybe not too risky?
They were great when they had occasional rookies of the year, and it seemed every last player
in their farm system was a superstar who just needed a shot. 5 Rookies Of The Year in a row again.
That’s what I’d rather see. Their dominance in drafting talent rather than buying the pieces.
I don’t know as much about AL players, but he’s the definition of Superstar.
If anyone can actually afford to pay this guy, they should sign him right?
But either way it is a ton of eggs in one basket. So crazy.

Yeah, that was the logical landing spot huh?
Easy money for the bettors at -100.

10 years, 700 Mil. When will he be able to pitch again? Or is he a full time DH going forward?

Hopefully his hitting will be so dominant they won’t even risk his health with pitching.
I will say LA comes to mind when considering not overworking their arms. It took years before they actually turned Urias loose. It seemed like an eternity before he was officially a starter.
Not sure how confident I’d feel at the plate right after Tommy John surgery, but if y’all say so.
How many WS Trophies are expected for 700 million?
I’d say 2.

dodgers are as annoying as the yankees with the stupid spending. and they still wont win the world series.

i'm glad the cubs didnt get him. we can get 3 great players for alot less than that. one person doesnt make you win. neither does 2. ask the angels.

Well over 100k per AB?
Jesus.
Considering he won’t play all 10 years
it’s closer to 200k per AB.
Fack.

C is right, it’s too much money, one guy doesn’t do enough… even if he pitches every 5 games and hits HRs.
LA has so much damn cash it really won’t be a killer if he takes an inside pitch off his hand and misses a year. But it’still a massive, massive risk.
It’s such a grinding, tough, injury prone game.
Insane to invest that much on one player, but I guess they had to make sure he didn’t land in SF.

For some reason after seeing that stupid high price tag, I remembered about 12 years ago or so, The Cleveland Cavs were for sale for 325 Million.
With LeBron on the floor.
Thought to myself, drymount that’s a good deal.
It was.

And just think of how much Ohtani will make in endorsements even if he’s relevant for half his contract. 1 billion?

Wanda: I can't stand people. I hate them. Do you hate them?
Henry: No, but I seem to feel better when they're not around.

Wonder how much LA will make on Jersey sales.
Add Japan.
Probably why 500 million was the same as 700 million.
Probably already making them as we type.
