Joe Girardi will not return as manager of Yankees

Joe Girardi will not be back next season as manager of the New York Yankees, sources told David Kaplan of ESPN 1000 in Chicago on Thursday.

Girardi just concluded a four-year, $16 million contract, and he and the team agreed to part ways, sources told ESPN. They will make an announcement later Thursday.

I have one candidate in mind for our next skipper...

Wow! I'm honestly surprised Girardi walked away. That really sucks. I have no idea who they'd go after now. I'm not sure how I feel about A-Rod being the manager.

Girardi didn't walk, the Yankees told him they were moving in a new direction.

I just read that. Wow. I'm honestly a little surprised. I'm really curious who they're going to get to replace him?

I agree. This is an absolutely must win for Houston. I don’t see them grabbing both in LA
