When I'm done ranting about elite power that rules the planet under a totalitarian government that uses the media to keep people stupid, my throat gets parched. That's why I drink Orange Drink. - BH

Seriously, when was the last time a major FA actually led a team to a World Series? Nats expected to with Scherzer and they completely collapsed. Lester was decent but for 25 mil a year you would expect a pitcher to at least win half of his games. Sandoval, Shields... all disappointments.

Teams don't learn.

Red Sox....
Nowhere near contention and they sign Price for how many years?
drymounting idiots.
Look at the Cubs... Rebuild! The time for signing aces ( loose term w Price ) is when you have a team to put around him.

Eh... it doesn't touch the Ramirez contract for stupidness. Also they're made of money and apparently have a great farm system.

Any team that signed Manny should have the whole front office gutted.
So they have one pitcher now...
They should have thought about the other 4 spots in the rotation, as well as their third baseman taking home 2015's biggest bust honors. Maybe you are right... They might buy some more arms, but the contract is ridiculous.

Don't even talk about bad contracts. Try being saddled with Albert Pujols while still paying off Josh Hamilton . . .

Dude.
You win... That Hamilton scene was horrifying to watch unfold.
Pujols came out of last year pretty strong though?
Yeah it was a stupid long contract, but he still has some pop.
Tough to get by Troutt and Albert back to back. A lot of teams would like to have him.
You could have used an ace like Price... Your rotation needs work.

This is part of the reason why the NFL and NBA have salary caps- to save the owners from their own bad decisions.
