Artist Call Out Thread

Talk about anything here. Post lifespan is 1 year.

Postby MattTheCraw on Wed Jun 20, 2012 3:30 am

I have an artist that hasn't shipped my print from October, I've emailed them several times without response.

I asked around and apparently I'm not the only one to have problems.

I didn't file a Paypal claim (I've never had an artist not deliver, so it wasn't on my radar, my mistake)

Any suggestions?

Call them out. Artist or not, they are still a seller. Any members on here who had treated you the same way would have been called out months ago.

Still sore from the RD debacle.

I'm going on a year and a half waiting on Jermaine. I'd say mines a lost cause now.

If you are going to start the thread, then you definitely should name the artist. They are just as responsible as any other seller....

Jermaine is absolutely disorganized and almost insulting with his shipping, which is why I just don't bother to buy his prints any longer. Unlike DD, Jermaine isn't even responsive to emails asking for updates. (His ego and delusions of grandeur have a tendency to get in the way of keeping fans).

That is interesting. I bought a tool handbill off his site about 2 months ago and it didn't show up in a month. I emailed him and he responded to me within a day or two saying he would look into it. Bounced emails back in forth for a couple of weeks and he said he would talk with the shippers. In the mean time, he released some foil handbills that I also bought and he said he would get it everything straightened out with all the handbills. The foils shipped in about 2 weeks and the other handbill was in with them. As a matter of fact, he sent both a red and blue handbill even though I only ordered the red.

This thread blows IMO. OP should have named names if what he is saying is true. Everyone else should stfu and not just randomly be throwing out names of artists they feel blew them off. Start your own call-out thread if you're really chapped about an (alleged) deal gone wrong. Having a general Artist's Call Out Thread where people can just drag names through the mud without any other information is bad form.

.02 and yes, I'm an artist, or at least I'm someone who sells things I created.

All the names and problems that have been mentioned so far in this thread are 100% accurate IMO.

Sometimes though, one can't defend the indefensible.

keep your end of the deal, earl grey, and all will run smoothly....respond to emails AFTER payment has been received just as eagerly as you did beforehand is a good start...I don't FEEL I got "blown off" mate, I KNOW I did, and if its tough reading for you somehow, I suggest you turn to the next page.....
