This is especially offensive in that it happened in Houston. The whole place is a giant concrete slab just crying out to be stenciled on and this dipshit chooses a Picasso. Lazy and unimaginative.

There's gotta be something more going on here. There's nothing about this on the museum's site or their Facebook, the camera was already pointed at the painting before dude tagged it, and the guy taking responsibility is bragging about it online? Something's not adding up.

Worst acting skills ever. The guy recording it was saying "What the drymount as if he didn't expect it to happen/know the artist." He walks up, zooms in on the tag then zooms in on the card listing the paintings name and artist? This has HOAX written all over it.

Stuff like Shafrazi, the guy in this vid (if it's legit)...what really shocks me is the utter self-absorption of it all. To think that their life, their idea, their opinion, their anything is at all relevant in the face of something important to human culture is the most fucked-up mindset a human can adopt.

drymounting Shafrazi defaced Guernica. GUERNICA. Who the drymount is he to approach something like that. He have something to say? Say it yourself, don't appropriate Picasso and ruin something for everyone -- say it your drymounting self. Want to be an artist? Go be an artist.

We are all meaningless. Nobody's going to remember us. That's fine. There are a few people who manage to make something that can resonate for years after their death -- that is to be celebrated. Destroying that, depriving the following generations of something truly meaningful to the human condition, is the lowest and most selfish thing a human can do.
