I cancelled an item I sold to what seems to be a shipping forwarding service. After research many people said it was OK, but they appeared to open the items and then repack and send on, so it was a minefield for things being damaged. Couldn't be bothered.

So what do you guys recommend in this situation? Going on vacation and will be gone for about a month, I only have a few things up and they've been up for a while and obviously I'd like to sell them. :D I have quite a few views and a fair amount of "watchers" so I'd rather not end the items and re-start them as fixed day listings. I want to let those people watching know that they will be ending soon, if I were to go in and add a subtitle to the listing stating the end of the auctions, would that show up for people in their Watching lists? The $1.50 fee doesn't bother me at all, but I wasn't sure if this would work or not or whether you guys had a better idea or any advice. Thanks! :pint:

I would change the shipping time to whatever time frame you will be gone for, that should let the buyers know when to expect you to get the items out. Same thing has happened to me and I always just message a buyer with a note that it will take me longer than usual to ship it and to let me know if it will cause any problems. You might still take a hit as far as your seller status goes though.

do you have an eBay store? if so, you can put up an away message. otherwise, if you have so few listings, i would change the handling time to reflect the time away, and would also add a line in your description.

if anything sells while away, just communicate to the buyer and confirm they saw the delay in shipping. if not, be open to refunding. $.02.

I was looking into buying a print (user has 100% feedback) - I asked about the condition of the print and he said that it's never been opened and in the original tube. I know the print shipped out at the end of March (this year). Do you think this amount of time spent in a tube will make it hard to flatten the print or should I be fine?

Doesnt say anything about the condition of the print in the tube. Prints have been known to arrive damaged even when the tube is fine. I would have him open it and send pics

i'm a US resident and bought a print form a UK seller. does anyone have any experience or knowledge of receiving a letter from state comptroller requesting state use tax on a UK imported print? is art / printed paper exempt? i've bought many prints from overseas and have never had to pay state tax. maybe this one was flagged due to the price point being higher (and worth collecting)?

I'm not in the US, but I believe the exemption is $800USD for imports Federally. CBP records the information on imports and makes the data available to the individual states, who can then use that data to collect applicable taxes from the importer.

thanks, alittle. makes sense. figured it was flagged over a certain dollar amount. at first glance, i thought it was some sort of phishing scam.

Are all "ebay bucks" offers systemwide? Or individually targeted?
