Haven't seen any posts about LEGO in here so I figured I would start one up. I know there are A LOT of LEGO collectors out there... I figure there has to be some sort of crossover between the poster addiction and a LEGO addiction.... or am I the only one?

I'm just getting into it now. It's more my thing than my 3 year olds at this point but he enjoys it (puts the men together and plays with the finished sets) and will have a great collection when he's old enough to start building and adding to it himself.

We have some Star Wars sets and some of the new DC superheroes sets. Brickset.com allows you to keep track of your collection similarly to EB does with art. So far we have 10 sets (8 SW/2 DC) with a total 3180 pieces and a retail cost of $420.

I was all about some LEGOs as a kid. Had all kinds. A couple favorites were pirate ships and castles.
Is it possible to find older models that are complete.....no missing pieces? (on second thought, maybe you shouldnt tell me )

Most every set is listed on brickset.com as far as I can tell. Once you find the set you are looking for by searching Brickset.com by theme and year you can click it and find where (if any) the sets are available for purchase. Ebay and Amazon mostly.

I've been at it for hours this evening while on breaks at work.

Love me some LEGO, used to have a fudge ton. Boxes and boxes, thousands of pieces. Parents dumped them at some point.

The kid is gonna start getting into it soon though, whether she likes it or not!

Still have all mine, plus the ton of Star Wars sets I bought in the early 2000s. My kids have the greatest Lego collection eva! Still ISO the UCS Millennium Falcon, though.

Plus, I sold a bunch of the more valuable SW sets to buy more posters. It's the circle of life.

Yeah, I can see how this could happen. Thankfully there are no HUGE poster ISO's available out there right now so my LEGO addiction is being satisfied.

There will come a time when these two hobbies will interfere with one another though. I'm almost certain once the Super Star Destroyer goes on sale i'll be clicking add to cart immediately.

You should check out bricklink.com It is the place to go for all your lego needs. As a kid i lost pieces to sets, and as an adult I was able to replace those pieces through this site. Good luck and enjoy.

I took a look at bricklink the other day. Quite a site for sure.

My little guy is all about the minifigures right now so we've been collecting the Series 6 collector series. He likes putting 'sleepy head' on his nightstand at bedtime. Fun times.

I wasn't all that excited to be purchasing a set from the prequels but the price was right and I was really wanting to check out a UCS set. I'm loving this build I must say. The sheer size of the thing is worth getting excited over. (TWSS)

I'd like to get The Duo's/Joker Funhouse Escape next.

Not sure if anyone on this forum is into Giantbomb (games) or Tested (for tech and other news) but on Tested.com they are currently seeing who can build 3000+ lego's faster.

First video is free, rest is premium member videos. its 50 bucks a year, but you get a tshirt and a ton of special videos on all Wiskey Media sites.

i started collecting the star wars lego when it first came out but gave up after a couple of years- too much cash being diverted into my attic! interested to see if it's worth anything now...

and i can't wait for the LotR lego due later this year, if i'm not mistaken?

I'm sure if you've kept your sets in good condition w/ box and instructions you can fetch a nice price for some of them. You can check over at brickset or bricklink to see what they are selling for now.

LOTR Lego looks pretty awesome. I probably will only be focusing on Star Wars and Superhero Lego this year.

Finished this up yesterday. It's the first Ultimate Collector Series that I have put together and I was very excited throughout I must say. Well worth the $60 price tag on Lego.com. Worth the Toys R Us tag of $129.99 CDN? Probably but thankfully I can order from the US Lego store w/ a CDN credit card/address.
