Inspired by this thread, I took a gamble on this:

We'll see, it was on sale.

Nice! Latitude 48 is probably the best beer Sam Adams' come out with i think. I'll have to see if I can find that deconstructed pack around here.samuraiwriter wrote:Inspired by this thread, I took a gamble on this:

I'm in sc for the weekend, nice to get bells and magic hat for a change. Could I bring any back on the plane, or would that get taken in the security scan? Either way ill be back in Oregon next week, always down for a trade. Pliny is awesome we don't see it all that much , a few times a year its around.
I always bring beer back from Germany in my checked bags. Just wrap the hell out of it and make sure it's nice and snug inside all your clothes. You should be fine.caleb wrote:I'm in sc for the weekend, nice to get bells and magic hat for a change. Could I bring any back on the plane, or would that get taken in the security scan? Oddly enough my brothers and i are drinking some oberon tonight to celebrate our youngest bro heading to the navy in a few days. scott, if your in the midwest, def get some two hearted ale by bells, if you like ipa's. also, 3-floyds is a great brewery and i like most everything they brew. if youre in iowa pick up some peace tree or try to find some templeton rye whisky, but good luck with that bc that is hard as F to find. boulevard also makes good beer and should be available most anywhere in the midwest.
cheers everyone

I'm lucky enough to have a great local liquor store that has a ton of beers that you can buy by the bottle. You can't get everything, but you can get most of the stuff out there. Scott, I've become a fan of Colorado beer, especially Left Hand Brewing. Milk Stout is awesome...

For those of you not in the south, Sweetwater makes some delicious beers. They do a mean IPA and thier most popular beer is a less hoppy pale ale named 420.
They do a special batch every month in their "dank tank"'and a few months ago it was a excellent chocolate porter that was pretty hoppy. It is called mean Joe bean.
I would be down for trading some beers. I love IPA's. I had a IPA from green flash brewing when I was in New England called west coast IPA that was one of the best I have ever had.

That southern hemisphere is good, but the northern is way better!
I tracked down a dogfish squall 90 ipa 22, and it was delicious.
The life and limb 2 just came out here, it's great. Sold out in lke two days last year.
Having easy access to Sierra stuff I've thought about trading and selling beer but I think it's more hassle than it's worth. I'll stick to selling my art no one wants vs beer lots of folk want!

I've been looking for some Pliny for a long time. I've had three to four almost trades but they always fell through. At this point I'm sure it won't live up to the hype I've created around it. Anyone? I can get most Michigan beer and am always at Shorts Brewing. They're blowin up and growing quickly.

Oskar Blues makes my two favorite American beers, Ten Fidy and G'Knight (formerly Gordon, but they changed the name under pressure from Gordon Biersch I'm told). In any case, CO is beer nirvana- you should all trade with Scott.
just a foil for me today, thanks

We should all have an EB beer get together here in Colorado for the GABF, http://www.greatamericanbeerfestival.com/ but I just found out that it's sold out already! Didn't know that tickets had already been sold. Maybe next year we could get a contingent to go.fredo wrote:CO is beer nirvana-

I love Great Divide out of Colorado. I grabbed a mixed 12 pack in St. Louis in June, totally dig it (Titan IPA, Colette, Samuari and Denver Pale Ale). Also, I have some Bell's Oberon and Two Hearted in the fridge. If anyone finds Odell's beers, they are top notch as well. Also, if you are ever in Nashville, MidTown Wine & Spirits is a great place. Almost everything can be bought in singles....plus, they have some awesome high grav stuff next door. Rochefort, Caldera and Hitochino are very tasty high grav beers.
If anyone has a bunch of caps they don't want, I have a fridge I'm trying to cover in caps. Would be willing to send a little cashola for your caps (not dented / creased, please).

I'm seriously beginning to think that Pliny the Elder really doesn't exist and it's all in inside joke that I'm not in on. So I'll bump the thread and post what I can get for you if you happen upon this mysterious beer.

Seriously take a look at that beer portfolio. Here are just a few of the wackier stuff. Of course they have beer flavored beer too.

You ain't a beer geek unless you've had this:

Of course there is Bells. Check out all those seasonals. After looking at the list I have a few I have to find this winter. Gotta love the Two Hearted Ale.

Edit:Removed the giant pic.
This is award winning stuff right here. One made the GQ top 50 beer list. Another won gold at GABF. They do it old school and they do it right.
So hopefully your mouth is now watering and you have a hankerin for some tasty Michigan brews. Find that Pliny and PM me. I'm experienced at mailing beer and have boxes made for the job. Help me discover that Pliny really exists.
