those won't be out until late Oct to early Nov according to the rep on beeradvocate. Maybe i can start my november with BA narwhal and end it with some BCBS. It will be an expensive month…mistersmith wrote:Nice! How is it? See any of the bourbon aged ones?

Chocolate rain was incredible. Very heavy on chocolate and the abv wasn't as noticeable as it was in Grey Monday and black Tuesday.
For me the Grey and black were very similar. The hazelnuts were present in Grey but not overbearing. The abv was much more apparent on both of these.
All 3 are world class though I'd be hard pressed to drink more than 10 oz in a night.

Had a really nice visit to Chicago last weekend. Stopped in Gary, IN to check out 18th Street Brewing, I highly recommend anyone in Chicago taking the South Shore to Gary and checking them out. The brewery is about 2 blocks away from the stop. Sampled all their beers and they were all damn good. Also got lucky that they were having a sour release on Saturday and picked up a couple bottles of this:
Sour Note Gose
Hit up a Binny's while in Chicago and grabbed the following:
Maine Mo, Peeper Ale, and Zoe
Firestone 2014 Velvet Merkin
Pipeworks Ninja vs. Unicorn
Stone Xocoveza Mocha Stout
Had that last night, really great lighter bodied stout that tasted like spiced Mexican coffee. I recommend grabbing one if you can.

Narwhal was good (doesn't taste like a 10%+ beer), I only picked up 2 in a build your own 6 pack, but I'll go pick up a 4 pack and age some for a while too, I think it will be even better.mistersmith wrote:Nice! How is it? See any of the bourbon aged ones?
Definitely on the lookout for the bourbon ones when they come out, hope I can try that!
^^^that stone Mocha Stout arrived in NY last week..hoping to get a bottle or two this week
Just picked up that Xocoveza last night. Took a quick pic of my stowaway cabinet.......
