Me and a buddy here in PA who have a small BBQ like adding some pappy to the sauce . It gives it a liitle kick on the back end.
Any of you that trade beers want to share some shipping techniques? I want to ship 3 large bottles; beer and wine. I've taken a look around but want to see what others here might do differently to ensure safe delivery. I've also read that using USPS is not an option as they won't ship alcohol. fwiw, I'm shipping instate. Thanks advance for any help.
Wanda: I can't stand people. I hate them. Do you hate them?
Henry: No, but I seem to feel better when they're not around.

USPS prohibits alcohol. but sometimes its the easiest and cheapest options. i ship cans and can crowlers mostly through USPS.
generally, via UPS or FedEx, i use this process... place bottles in ziplock bags. wrap in bubble wrap. place inside box. place in additional box.
i use USPS Priority boxes for internal boxes, for the most part. can generally safely fit 3-4 bombers in a Medium Flat Rate box. they also fit quite snug in a generic 14 x 14 x 12 box.
some people live by the Home Depot bucket process. purchase said bucket. ziplock, wrap and pack said bottles snuggly in said bucket. place bucket in shipping box that can hold it. product is snug and potentially leak proof.

If you're near a box store or uhaul, they should have 3 bottle shippers. Use bottle wrap / newspapers to minimize movement. And ship ups or FedEx. Print a label at home and just drop it off so you avoid any questions.
There's a specialty wine place near me that sells styrofoam bottle shippers. Great for bombers and the rare bottles you definitely don't want to break. Zip lock the bottle and insert a little bubble wrap so they are nice and snug and you have nothing to worry about. Ive only used ups and have never had a problem. The missus also shipped me some bottles using the box inside a box technique once and they landed safely, despite her having no idea what she was doing.
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately...

Moving soon and need to downsize my cellar to about 200 bottles from over 1000. Have 714 left to go so I figured I would post here.
Preference to IP in Chicagoland (Franklin Park or Deerfield) Not sure the next time I'll be in the city. Prefer to sell, but open to trades. Easier to move art than beer. Only current ISOs are Ween Emek SF Bertha and Pollock Sun & Moon set and 1.0 phish prints. Prices listed are current secondary prices.

Willing to sell/trade out of state, but you'd pay for shipper and actual shipping (or send a label).
Serious inquiries only.

KBS is still solid. they just brewed the fudge out of it this year. still enjoy it fresh. if there wasnt soo much fudge releasing right now, id buy more. already cracked 12 bottles. ive passed at any of the $7+ singles, but couple places had $20-24 4pks. not a fan of $6 a bottle, but its not bad. the bomber prices are a joke.

So jelly. Cheapest I've seen it here is $6.50 per bottle ($26 per 4 pack) and the usual seems to be $7.50+ ($30 per 4). Finding good 12 oz BA Stouts is still not easy.halftonegraphics wrote:KBS is still solid. they just brewed the fudge out of it this year. still enjoy it fresh. if there wasnt soo much fudge releasing right now, id buy more. already cracked 12 bottles. ive passed at any of the $7+ singles, but couple places had $20-24 4pks. not a fan of $6 a bottle, but its not bad. the bomber prices are a joke.
