Bible belt is flooding the stores right now in Dallas. Every store seems to have gotten fudge ton of it.

Going to this brewery Tired Hands like 15 mins away tomorrow. They only eff with pretty small batches and I've heard tons of hype lately. I'm kicking myself I haven't been yet but that will all change tomorrow.
Kinda shocked they have a 100% rating beeradvocate so there's no way I'll be disappointed.

Doesn't have the intense aroma that grapefruit sculpin has, but tastes pretty damn good!

I went to a brewers dinner the other night which was put on by Oakshire Brewing and presented a combination of 7 Oakshire/3floyds beers with 4 courses. They paired the short rib with Zombie Dust which went well together, zombie dust is a hop forward pale ale with a citrus flavor. I would pair desert with the barleywine or stout.profbobo wrote:We're having a dinner party Saturday, probably gonna do something along these lines:
1). Roasted Tomato Soup Shots with Saison/White wine (probably Rose)
2). Goat Cheese, Arugula, and Beet Mini Grilled Cheese with Sour/Chardonnay
3). Braised Short Rib Shephard’s Pie with Whipped Potato Landscape and Porcini/Hazelnut/Brown Butter “Dirt” with Barleywine/Merlot or Cab Sauv
(vegetarian: Spring Frittata with Asparagus, Caramelized Onions, and Sharp Cheddar- there will be extra)
4). Lemon Lush dessert (family recipe) with Inniskillin chardonnay/lemoncello
Any thoughts? I think I'm probably going to do a fruited saison (I think I have something Italian that might fit the bill ... name escapes me right now), or some Hill Farmstead, a pretty acidic sour (something by Crooked Stave most likely), Bourbon County BW or Sucaba for the short rib course maybe? I'm not great at pairing foods / beers, so any input would be appreciated
All that said the event was awesome, spendy, but worth it to sit around drink great beers from two of my favorite breweries, eat awesome food and chat with head brewers from each brewery. Love me some 3 floyds
