Yeah, one comic book store owner explained the complicated ordering system for the Hip Hop variants. They had to order a minimum of a certain amount of other comics, to be eligible to order the Hip Hop variants. It was worse with the 1:100 incentive copies...I had to eBay them because all the comic book stores, around me, were not big enough to justify ordering a ridiculous amount of copies of comic books that they won't be able to sell.

They are doing the same crap for the Disney Tsum Tsum variants. I'll get what I can but some I'll have to get on ebay, I can't justify ordering dozens of a book I won't sell just for a variant that I want for myself. That is how stores go out of business!!

I was hoping the variant craze would of died out after the mess of the 90's, an alternate cover here and there is fine but jeez this never needed to be a thing again.

I agree the variant cover craze is getting out of control. And funny thing is, most of the time I find that I prefer the "regular" cover anyway!

They need to show some restraint.

These modern variants are total garbage. No holofoils? No polybags? No trading cards? pffft.
Somebody bring Todd McFarlane back to comics and let's do this right.

You know you can just buy the regular cover if that's all you want?
No need to stop someone else from buying what they like.

i think those spider-mans are custom comic shop covers, each shop got their info in the middle, no one is expected to collect all of those

A buddy just gave me about 2000 comics. 10 big tupperware containers worth. Once I sorted through it all, I ended up keeping about half. Mostly 80s/90s X-men, X-Force, Uncanny X-men, X-Factor stuff. Kept enough to fill four long boxes

Oh yeah. I've never been an "avid" comic reader. Read a lot of X-men/Spiderman growing up in the 90s. But never collected any of it. So this is a good "start" to my collection

Shoot some pics if you get a chance. I'd love to see some of the stuff you scored.

Best I can do right now. There's other stuff, but these are the four main runs I've got. Also got a lot of Ultimate X-Men, New X-Men, X-Men Unlimited, Cable, Wolverine, etc. Let's just say my friend is a big X-Men fanatic
