No damage? Half of the drymounting house plants died!

Anyway, my three year old daughter was fairly upset because two of the plants that took the toll were hers. Need to find replacements. Good thing is we don't have an aquarium. Though to think about it, the fish would be easier to replace with one that looks exactly the same than a drymounting plant.

Worst case would have been 10 days more vacation with the temp rising 10 degrees above freezing 5 days in.

All in all, could have been much worse. Glad you came out relatively unscathed.

Indeed, could have been a disaster. The temps will not rise for another couple of weeks, but the furnace could potentially all of a sudden kick in again after the freeze up. It was making some noise trying to do something, so who knows. Pretty lucky to get away with a few dead plants and a couple of squeaks in the hardwood where there was none previously.

Not sure how I will feel on winter get aways from now on though

going through my flatfile, Itoya portfolios, etcetera and having to take a trip down memory lane via a vis my horrible purchasing habits circa 2009-2012.

Was about three hours of “why the hell did I buy this... why the hell did i buy THIS”... :hanging:

Nothing from what I can see. Keep in mind that it was a gradual cooling and a gradual warm up. Also keep in mind that at least one third of the prints I buy, probably more, (and I assume many others in Canada and northern states) receive them in below freezing temperatures, sometimes way below. I used to be concerned about it long time ago, but have never seen anything happen to a print. I never open the tube right away when it is cold out; rather I let it sit for a day or two before opening. I once had a print sit in the garage for over two months in the winter because that's where the tube was left off in temperatures varying from below -30C to above 5C. The print has since been framed long ago and it looks as it did before it was ever shipped to me.

Yes and we like them. Also great to let a kid take care of one or two.

Doubt there are too many here who hadn't done that.

Not really. Also, someone has to. So be thankful!

Interesting. I don't have the patience for a house plant.

I just don't like their shitty attitudes after feeding them.
