Have been working with this new client close to month now trying to clean up the books for the year end. Holy drymounting cow! Why the drymount do people do dumb fudge when they have no drymounting idea about what they are doing? I have never seen such a drymounting mess previously and thinking I should not have even taken the job. Very pissed with this fudge. I mean it cannot be good when a client occasionally hears you swearing outfukkingloud and it seems like swearing only gets worse every day. Can't wait to be done with this fudge, but no end in sight at this point.

I probably should have stepped away from this client. Had two to choose from to add to workload (now thinking I should have just left things as they were with no additional workload ). This one seemed more challenging/interesting and the pay is up there. The challenging part turned out to be more than I wished for. Interest is, I would not say gone, but definitely less than I saw before starting. Pay will probably end up even higher, but still not sure it is worth it (takes more of my otherwise off time than I would like it to). Also, it is the first time I have seen an 82-page bank statement in real life.

But yeah,

This is the wrong thread for this, but there isn't a good thread for this, and I'm going to selfishly get this off my chest here because I just need to put it down. I'm sorry because this is pretty dark.

A friend hung himself yesterday. He wasn't a close friend - though his wife and my wife are close friends - and he and his family moved out of state last year, so I hadn't seen him in a while. But before they moved we used to go their house pretty often, have barbecues and swim in their pool. I remember him swimming around his pool with my son draped around his neck, just laughing. And I can't get his face out of my head. And I can't stop from thinking about how much he must have hurt in his final days, and I can't stop thinking about the wife and kids he left behind. I'm standing here at my desk trying to work, and I'm trying to just be okay, and it's just not happening. The only person I can talk to about this is my wife, and she's taking it worse than I am, and I can't put my anguish on her. That's it, I just needed to put that somewhere.

Wow, heavy indeed. The hanging part makes it even more, I dunno, real? Always sucks when there are kids involved too. Hang in there man, explore the dark place; it makes coming back to the light all the better.
