Art-related high profile thefts/crimes (post local news)

Talk about anything here. Post lifespan is 1 year.

Given lots of people who collect in here collect lots of different things related to art, a "significant crime" thread is probably not such a bad thing to have....Plenty of crime doesn't get reported, but if you see something big in your local area, post it here - criminals will ultimately have to sell a lot of their illegally gained goods on craigslist or ebay (or lose a lot of money trying to sell them otherwise), so you may see stuff in your local area. Thread is for high profile robberies, not tubes stolen from your porch or paypal disputes (plenty of threads for that already). If you see an article on a reported robbery, post it; if you see something fishy involving what you know to be expensive art going at an unbelievably low price, come back and ask about it.

As good a starting post as any:

Last night, June 10th, all three Ultimate Comics physical store locations in North Carolina were broken into and burglarized. Over $20,000 worth of comic books, toys and merchandise were stolen, glass display cases smashed, and the store’s windows were broken for entry.
